Hi Matias, welcome to the community - and thanks for posting! I’ve pinged a few of the community members I know have had similar experiences to yours and invited them to share their learnings.
I also had a few concerns to register my business in Estonia. But after I moved away from Germany, the tax situation got so bad, there was no other choice but to try. More than two years later, I didn’t regret my decision.
I can totally relate to your concerns. I have been living in Germany and working as a freelancer. My other issue was that I wanted to relocate within Europe and didn’t want to lock myself in Germany due to my business. Then I came across e-residency program and decided to go for it. In a few weeks I had my company registered and could start operating. Since that I relocated to Hungary and never looked back. In case you have any specific question, how to set up an Estonian company, how to handle accounting and taxes etc, let me know and I will share my experience. Good luck on your journey!
I have a similar feeling, anything that is a different business model will be misunderstood by Finanzamt in Germany and that generates hours and hours of preparation of documentation and costs of tax advisors.
That is why I am looking for a different solution.
@dett.tolnai In my case I don’t need to change my tax residence because I have a part time job here in Germany.
But on the other hand I have a side project which completes my income but which, if registered in Germany, generates a lot of bureaucracy and costs, so I am considering whether it is worthwhile to continue.
I think the Xolo Go product would be the right product for me.
But I am held back because I asked the people at Xolo for an example of the ‘ Incoming Report’ so that I can confirm with my tax advisor whether it is valid for submission to the German tax authorities.
